About 3DNovations
3DNovations is a Scottish technology and research company specialising in immersive environments, digital learning, accessibility, collaborative software and applied research.
We work with universities, public bodies, charities, community organisations and businesses to develop technology around real educational, social and operational needs.
Our history
3DNovations Limited was incorporated in Scotland in 2020, but its roots go back much further.
The company builds on work begun through Hao2.eu, established in 2006, which began researching collaborative 3D environments around 2010. Much of this technology and research was developed under the 3DNovations name.
Early work explored how virtual environments could support autistic people in employment, training and public services. This later expanded into education, health, accessibility, digital twins, participatory research and digital skills.
Research and innovation
Our history includes Technology Strategy Board funded research, projects involving DWP and Jobcentre Plus, collaboration with University College Dublin SMARTlab and Cardiff University, and peer reviewed research into virtual learning and participatory design.
The work has received recognition including the Nominet Internet Awards in 2012 and selection as a European finalist for Responsible Research and Innovation in 2016.
What we do today
Our current work includes immersive environments, digital twins, data visualisation, digital learning platforms, software development, accessibility, user testing and collaborative research.
Working with us
We regularly work within partnerships involving universities, SMEs, public bodies and third sector organisations.
3DNovations can contribute technical development, research support, pilot delivery, digital learning, accessibility, user testing and project management.
We welcome approaches from organisations developing UK and international research and innovation projects, particularly in digital learning, accessibility, immersive technology, health, education, culture, heritage and social innovation.
